Good or Bad??

Its been 3 months since i started my first full time job.

Great place, awesome colleagues and rather good environment..

Awesome colleagues do not stop at my own department.. they comes from different departments too..

but one thing, people from higher posts in other departments always treat you much better than those from your own.

I used to look forward to work so much...

but now, im dreading to turn up for work.

Just a simple change could make such a big difference to the working place.

It is not conducive anymore, and we feel like we're living in a war zone.

The TDAs are still as close as we were.

but something is different.

we used to share happy times and happy discussions..

but now its all dwelled in anger.

we are not angry with one another, we are all angry over the same thing.

Everything could be resolved peacefully.. but anger overwhelm us.

everything said and typed could be so filled with emotion.

we work with a frown instead of a smile..

we do not like the feeling, but YOU seems to be enjoying it.

being protective of YOUR good friend, insulting the rest of ur subordinates just to get your point across, seems to be fun to you..

Few questions for you:

- Have YOU GUYS ever placed yourselves in our shoes?

- Are we not allowed to go out as colleagues and friends tgt after work?

- Are we suppose to forgo our studies just to do what you want us to?

- How would you feel if you are busy but yet being forced to do OT just because you feel like it?

- Before using words like "putting your brain cells to better use" have you thought of how you would feel if we say this to you?

- If you want us to respect you, in which sense are you worthy of our respect?

When you are unhappy with someone, you tell the person str8 to his face if you have the balls to,

theres no need for you to include everyone in the department of your unhappiness towards him in the email.

If you think that we are given lots of freedom, why a voice recording device in the office and at the counters?

Just one email, simply show what you treat us as and the way you behave as a incharge.

We are not your slaves. We deserve to be treated with respect, and appreciation.

After all these ranting, I'm thinking, is this a good place to continue working at or is it bad..

So many unneccessary gushes of anger after just 2 weeks of change.

Definitely more to come in future.

OCBC Cycling 2010!

Volunteered for OCBC Cycling 2010 few months back together with friends whom I know from SCSM 2009. Went for a briefing at Conrad Continental, and know more about our roles and responsibilities for the event day. Our leader did not mention our post clearly in the email, and we were pretty lost when we have to know what are the things and reporting time and venue that we should go. Since then, our impression of our leader is extremely bad, and we feel that he is not friendly towards his team members at all.

Our duty is on the 5th and 6th of March, and role is to mend the counters when runners come to collect their runner kit. The job scope is rather easy, and I get to make new friends who are from the backend sector. Tons of gossiping session, and dinner was rather okay, but we somehow have to 'fight' for them. Management was terrible, and people of higher post are not really helpful, instead they are just leaving shit jobs to the volunteers, and not even helping them at all.

We are only given cash reimbursement, without any goodie bags or vouchers included, which normally are given to volunteers. Home sweet at 9/10 plus pm, together we new friends made. Overall, the event is fun and the people are nice, minus the people from higher post.

Extremely overdued post!

Has been far too lazy to combine all pictures and start blogging about the many happenings in life!

First up!

On the 4th of February, which is the last lesson for Hospitality and Tourism Management, and our facilitator, Mrs Vishakha, agreed to gave the class a treat at Sakura Admiralty! E54A was really really excited and we quickly finished our worksheet and all so that we could spend more time eating at Sakura. Tons of pictures were taken, and i've only chosen a few to upload! the rest are in my facebook. (which i bet many have seen after so long)

Im quite sure everyone enjoyed themselves, and really enjoyed her lesson a lot. Its sad to hear that she is leaving RP, and we are the last class that she is facilitating. James made a rather touching movie for her, and it actually made her tear. but we're glad that its tears of happiness. =D

Have you ever.....

Have you ever

- thought about the feelings of others before you speak..

Have you ever

- look at the whole situation before you scolded

Have you ever

- want to find out what others did before saying such mean words.

Have you ever

- thought of how other would feel when you said such mean words about others

Have you ever

- thought of how much he had contributed to the family in the past

Have you ever

- taken a step back to look at the whole situation

Have you ever

- tried to understand that everyone's mindset is different

Have you ever

- tried to understant that everyone has different perception on things

Have you ever

- tried to understant the different priorities that people set

Have you ever

- gave a proper chance for people to explain before scolding

Have you ever

- care about how others would feel about you in the long run..

Have you ever

- tried to look at things differently

Have you ever

- wonder if you are the one who has changed before wanting people to accept the way you do things

I DOUBT SO...

3 in 1!!

Gonna combine 3 posts together as they are rather brief ones with some pictures here and there.

One fine day in school after my project meeting, I received a phone call from Singapore Indoor Stadium telling me that I had won 2 pairs of tickets for Reverie: Cirque On Ice. I was really happy and excited as I had always wanted to watch this, thinking that it would be exciting and all, as I thought it would be a performance whereby they perform circus acts on ice. However, to my disappointment, the whole performance was boring, and I’m glad I did not waste any money on watching this show. Only time was wasted.

Took some pictures while waiting for May to arrive, and for the show to start.

As you can see, i successfully cut myself off the picture again! Lousy photographer = ME!

Mid December, my granduncle held a Gong Tek for his son(my uncle),his parents and some others who passed years ago. My uncle had left some money after he passed away, and my granduncle decided to use some of the money to hold a Gong Tek for them. Until now, I am still not sure about the main purpose of doing it, but what I know is that the whole thing cost A LOT of money. Building tentage for the big paper house and all.

This is the house that would be burnt on the second night, which cost around $5k I think.

The ‘palm’ below is like a bun which I did not eat, and is being thrown to us by the priest. Didn’t really take pictures as it is really a busy day for us, and further more its tiring.

Lastly, a random treat by cousin for Ivan and my mom at Coca Restaurant. Its my first time there, and I fell in love with it immediately. Awesome soup base, food and environment. They have student price also, which is rather worth it for students. Was a rather rush lunch as my aunt’s friend would be picking us up, and I would say her friend is a really PRO driver. Probably due to the fact that he is a Malaysian. Cutting lanes and all rather perfectly, and he drives in a really relaxed manner. I doubt I would ever be able to half his skills. Firstly, I should even get my license first. After I start work, im sure gonna get a license! RAWR

Half-Day Batu Pahat Trip!

Back in mid December 2009, randomly went on a half day or probably lesser than half day trip to Batu Pahat, Johor, Malaysia with my aunt and cousins, to visit their paternal grandparents.

My family used to join them in such trips when we are much younger. If I am not wrong, the last time I went there was when I am around 10 years old. We used to stay there for a night or two, in a Kampung house, sleeping on wooden planks, walking on cemented grounds, and it the house is really a house made of wooden planks sorta house. Siblings and cousins used to catch chicks behind the house, and at times would get chased by roosters. I, as the more timid ones, always stays near the house, for fear that I might get lost in the forest kinda place. From what I could recall, the kitchen was really big, and there would be a drain in the middle. We would bathe in the toilet that has a well in it, and shower using water from the well. The toilet is outside of the house, and has a foul smell, which I never ever dare to go until now.

Visiting the place 10 years later, feels really different, as the area has pretty much developed, and the house is a little smaller now and I felt more terrified sitting there. Cousin drove in from Singapore to the Malaysia customs, and aunt took over later on and we went over to the aunt’s place first, whereby we drop our car there and took the aunt’s car and drove over to cousin’s favourite Bak Kut The. Had lunch there, and went over to the old age home where grandpa is in.

Grandpa is very weak now, and does not have much strength to talk much. However, he would very often smile, and this smile is a really sweet friendly smile. Stayed a short while there as he needs to rest, and we would still need to visit grandma back at the old kampong house. The roads there all looks the same to me, and to my surprise, the old house still look more or less similar to what was in my memory. Entered the house and heard some squeaking sound which sounds like rats! I asked my cousin if she’s thinking what I’m thinking and when she said yes, both of us immediately jumped up the chair and put our legs close to our chest. It was really scary. While the adults are talking, we went out to take a look at the familiar places that we used to play at. Took some pictures using Roy’s camera which I had not yet get it from him.

After awhile, we went over to a shopping mall which I forgot what’s the name, shopped a bit for accessories and cousin got some clothing and gums. Then we went over to Old Town hoping to get some lunch and a drink, but service was extremely TERRIBLE, and we just left the place. Went back to aunt house and collect our car. Roy drove back from there and Kimberlyn and I was far too tired and slept all the way till the customs.

Dinner and Home Sweet! =D

Fulfilling Day!

Pictures at a later part of the day!

Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 2009 DYNAMIC 6

On 6 December 2009, thousands of volunteers gathered at the Padang way before day break, queuing for our volunteer pack and registering ourselves at the registration counter. It was raining heavily the day before, and weather was cold and ground was wet. Hot coffee are provided for the volunteers, and we are told to change into our volunteer tee and look for our sector leader.

Wearing shoes and stepping on the muddy grounds was pretty uncomfortable. Looked for my sector leader, which I’ve never met before as he was not around during the briefing, and realized I’m the first one to reach. Feeling rather lost at the same times as I’m attending the event alone, and wondering if my sector mates would be attending the event. Seeing familiar faces approaching us really warms my heart. Faizah arrived first, and we had a rather cheerful chat. She’s still as cheerful as usual no matter what time is it of the day. Sector members start to arrive slowly, some bringing their friends from other sector or bringing their friends along. Jaslyn brought along Jiamin, Crystal (my first sector friend) brought along Brad.

While waiting for more people to arrive, and deploying the different sector for breakfast, Sector D6 (my sector) had a good chat and took group pictures. Sector leader, Kenneth, was a rather shy person, and only talk to us when asked questions. However, throughout the whole marathon he started to open up and took photos with us.

Had lousy breakfast, and waited for bus to arrive to send us over to East Coast Park for our duties. Sector D6 is a pretty important sector as we would need to direct the runners to make a U turn, and to run towards the park at the 21km mark, which is at the National Sailing Centre. Walked for a very long distance as we alighted at the wrong place, and having to deploy all members, we would have to walk as a team and see who wants to be deployed at which area. Kenneth was nice to allow us ride on his bicycle which is meant for the sector leaders.

I was being deployed to the National Sailing Centre. My area is rather boring as the couple that I am with is rather quiet, and they did not attend the briefing, and is not close to the sector at all. I only started cheering for the runners towards the end of the race, as I was rather tired due to the lack of sleep in the morning, and feeling really HIGH at the end. The elite runners are really fast! They only took 1 hour to run 21km, while the last runner took around 5-6 hours to reach my 21km mark. Saw a few friends who are running, and was rather shock to see some who are rather unexpected.

Duties ended at around 11plus am, and we are considered the first to end duties as ours is only to direct runners who are running the full marathon. Waited for bus at the carpark, group shots and some slept a little.

Back to Padang, and collected our allowance. Home sweet thereafter. It was a long tiring day, but it was fun! Its great to know people who have the same interest as you, coming together for the same reason, and at the same age. Catch up with each other through facebook and msn, even till now! Some of us had volunteered for the same event together, but up till now I had not receive any confirmation from the OCBC Cycling event personnel. Pictures will do all the talking.

SECTOR D6 ROX!

Granduncle's 80th Birthday

Its my dearest Granduncle's 80th Birthday in November 2009!

Its the exact day instead of the Chinese tradition of celebrating it one or two years earlier.

Mummy booked a table over at my house nearby coffee shop, and it was a treat from Granduncle.

There were about a total of 9 of us, and it was really a feast! (My family, Kim's family, His grandson and daughter-in-law)

Unfortunately I wasn't feeling that well on that day, and have to refrain from eating spicy stuffs.

Fish Head steamboat, crabs, and the usual normal dishes..

Everyone had a great time, and seeing that smile from Granduncle's face really warms out hearts!

An awesome man he is.. taking care of almost everything and everyone in the family..

From my mum's generation and now to us..

Picking and Sending me to school when I'm young,

Helping Daddy with his delivery even when he's really old..

Doing all the technical stuffs whenever our families faces a problem.

From the ceiling to the water pipes..

Every single thing is being well taken off under his hands.

Never give up spirit.. to ensure that everything is done.

80 years old and still going strong..

From encouraging us youngsters to take the stairs till now that he is taking the lift himself when coming over to my place..

It really amuses us at times.. Making fun of him at times.. but deep down, we know that he is really old and should slow down his pace..

Let him do whatever he wants and likes..

We still love him no matter what.

We ordered a cake for him, and tried to find the best.. but with a budget constrain.

Its his first time having a rather big birthday celebration,

and his first time cutting a cake..

We wanted to make it the most memorable time for him..

The grand-children shared the price of the cake.

The pictures taken on that day are rather priceless..

His smile when all of us give him a kiss on his cheek and took a picture..

When all of us gathered around him to sing him a birthday song and take a group picture..

His smile.. so heart warming.. =)

Pictures speaks a thousand words..

UPDATES!! like finally..

Alright... I've just typed a long post using Google Chrome.. and it just screwed up when im trying to post pictures..

Here goes the blog entry AGAIN. (i did not save it)

I feel that its time that i get my butt down to start blogging again.. Tons of things to update, and tons of pictures to upload.

Oh, I'm now blogging on my new laptop, cos my Lenovo Thinkpad R60 has given up on me.. Sent for reformat in school, Lenovo Service Centre changed my wiireless card and paid them 30bucks to reformat to original OS, but still problem is still there, or even worse.

Im now using a Lenovo B450 that cost 900bucks. Got it from a warehouse sales over at AudioHouse, with sponsor from Granduncle. =)

However, my R60 is still slightly better as it has got the Bluetooth function which i depend on HEAVILY. Luckily, my B450 has got a card reader. Worse thing is... my phone's driver is unable to run on Windows 7, and i cant sync most of the things that i have in my phone, so i would have to use the card reader now. Still miss my R60 tons.. and its being kept in my cupboard for good!

Pics of my old and new baby up next! And would continue blogging about those listed above. =)

New baby on the left, old baby on the right. Old baby's current state is not like that though. Its keyboard was decorated with stickers. This is a super duper old pic already as i have not been using the keyboard protector for a long long time.  Love them both! =D

To my old baby:

Thanks for going through thick and thin with me for the past 2+yrs..

You're really awesome and I appreciate it!

Luv Luv!!
